Die zweistrahlige Airbus A319 gehört zur sehr erfolgreichen Airbus

A320-Familie, die im Jahr 1984 aus der Taufe gehoben wurde und

ihren Dienst als Verkehrsflugzeug im April 1988 aufnahm. Die A319 ist

eine verkürzte Version der A320; sie hat praktisch die gleiche

Treibstoffkapazität wie die A320-200, befördert aber weniger

Passagiere und kann so in der Zweiklassen-Konfiguration mit 124

Passagieren an Bord eine erhöhte Reichweite von 7.200 Kilometern

erzielen, was die größte Reichweite in ihrer Klasse ist. Die Versionen

A320 und A319 sind die beliebtesten Varianten der A320-Familie, zu

der auch die Versionen A318 und A321 gehören. Die A320/A319 hat

den größten Kabinenquerschnitt, der derzeit in ihrer Kategorie auf

dem Markt angeboten wird. Der Typ ist sehr flexibel; er ermöglicht

eine Ausstattung mit allerhöchstem Komfort mit breiteren Sitzen und

Gängen oder alternativ einem extra-breitem Mittelgang um die gerin-

gen Bodenzeiten zu erzielen, die das Niedrigpreis-Segment heutzu-

tage erfordert. Aufgrund der Kabinengröße und ihrer Form können

größere Gepäckfächer über den Sitzreihen eingebaut werden, die ein

schnelleres Ein- und Aussteigen der Passagiere erlauben. Außerdem

bietet sie ein auf Containern basierendes Beladungssystem, das für ein

profitables Cargo-Geschäft unerlässlich ist. Dieses System ist kompati-

bel mit dem weltweiten Standard-“Widebody“-System, was weniger

Bodenausrüstung erfordert und die Umschlagskosten verringert.

Die A319 ist auch sehr umweltverträglich, da sie einen sehr geringen

Treibstoffverbrauch, geringe Emissionen und eine geringe

Lärmentwicklung aufweist. Die A319 kann entweder von CFM

International CFM56 oder International Aero Engines IAE V2500-

Triebwerken angetrieben werden. Der Typ folgte der A320 und A321

nach und wurde im April 1996 zum ersten Mal ausgeliefert. British

Airways hat 33 Flugzeuge des Typs A319-100 in ihrer Flotte und erhielt

die erste Maschine (G-EUPA) am 06. Oktober 1999. Germanwings,

Lufthansas Niedrigpreisfluglinie, betreibt derzeit 6 Maschinen des Typs

A319-100, die von den Flughäfen Köln-Bonn und Stuttgart-

Echterdingen aus insgesamt 34 Ziele in ganz Europa anfliegen.

The twin-engine A319 belongs to the very succesful Airbus A320 fam-

ily which was launched in 1984 and entered airline service in April 1988.

The A319 is the shortened version of the A320. With virtually the same

fuel capacity as the as A320-200, and fewer passengers, the range

with 124 passengers in 2-class configuration extends to 7.200 kilome-

tres, the highest in its class. The A320 and A319 are the most popular

variants of the A320 family, which includes also the A-318 and A321.

The cabin cross-section of the A320/A319 is the widest fuselage in its

category on the market. The type is very flexible, for it allows for top-

of-the-range comfort with wider seats and aisles, or an extra-wide

aisle for the fast turnarounds essential in the low-cost markets nowa-

days. The cabin size and shape allows larger overhead stowage to be

fitted for faster boarding and deplaning. It also offers a containerised

cargo loading system that is essential for profitable cargo operations.

This system is compatible with the worldwide standard widebody sys-

tem, which reduces ground equipment and handling costs.

Furthermore, the A319 is an environmentally responsible neighbour,

offering very low fuel burn, emissions and noise footprints.

The A319 can be powered by either CFM International CFM56 or

International Aero Engines IAE V2500 engines. The type followed the

A320 and A321 and was first delivered in April 1996. British Airways

operates 33 A319-100s, the first (G-EUPA) being delivered on 6

Octobre 1999. Germanwings, Lufthansa’s low cost airline, currently

operates 6 A319-100s out of Köln-Bonn Airport and Stuttgart-

Echterdingen to 34 destinations throughout Europe.
